Welcome to my blog! I’m Mabel Walton, the marketing manager at The Talent Hackers. We are a B2B talent acquisition support company based in Worcestershire that supports ambitious growth companies throughout the Midlands, part of the new wave of disruption in hiring.
September already, four months away from 2022, this year feels like it’s flown by, at the same time, the longest year ever! During the month of August we saw a gradual return to the workplace since the ending of restrictions, and a significant increase in the percentage of the population vaccinated. An interesting year for graduates, like myself, to be finding their feet in the world of work…
This month I have acquired The Talent Hackers social media accounts, predominantly focusing on Twitter and LinkedIn, using Hootsuite. Hootsuite is a social media management platform, offering a number of inbuilt analytic functionalities, using Hootsuite is an easy way to monitor return on investment and engagement. From a social listening perspective, initially I thought best practice would be to manually upload to social media, gauging when our audience is most engaged on each platform. However, it proved much more efficient to utilize our Hootsuite membership to schedule all content for the upcoming month.
I think fellow marketing professionals would agree another ‘go to’ marketing automation platform is Mailchimp. Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform, and email service for SMEs. Although visually Mailchimp can be overwhelming, I’ve found the more you use it, the more familiar you become with using the different tools. I’ve been working closely with The Talent Hackers marketing director, Jo Morgan, to create a sequence of emails in Mailchimp to send throughout our telemarketing campaign. Given that there are eight potential outcomes from the campaign, we have implemented a process for each of those.
The key to making this project successful has been sourcing a data set of 300 tech startup companies based around the West Midlands, and further afield. Having a data set large enough to determine whether telemarketing is a viable channel for The Talent Hackers, in terms of return on investment.
We have also considered what the next campaign will look like, and who the campaign will be targeted to…Venture Capitalists
